Section One: Speaking and Writing

The oral assessment in the PTE Academic exam tests your English speaking skills in an academic context. Your fluency, pronunciation and organization of ideas will be evaluated.

In the writing section, you must write answers in academic English with accurate grammar, varied sentence structures and correct spelling.

Both sections assess your ability to communicate effectively in English, either speaking or writing, in an academic setting.
